Frequently asked questions

What's the best time for kitesurfing in the Northeast?

Wind season generally runs from July to January in Ceará, Piauí and Maranhão, and from August to January in Rio Grande do Norte. Peak is September through November.

How do school reservations work?

At the end of each guide you'll find the school we recommend. You choose the lesson or rental, and your request opens in the school's WhatsApp. Price, payment and timing are arranged directly with them.

Which destination is best for someone who's never ridden?

Shallow, calm water makes learning much easier: Guajiru Island, Barra Grande, Cumbuco and Jericoacoara lagoons and the river at Atins are great choices.

Do I need to bring my own gear?

Not necessarily. All destinations have equipment rental from schools. If you're experienced and staying many days, bringing your own might be worth it — we have an article just about that.
